Cultivated forms refer to the types of sweet cherries, to which most varieties of cherries belong, and sour cherries, which are mainly used for cooking. Both species come from Europe and West Asia. The nutrition of cherry fruits was very low in calories and low in fat. However, cherries are a rich source of phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals.
